Reno Trip with Mom and Roxanne

Mom (Burke is writing this) has not heard from her oldest Granddaughter Jennifer, Who might as well be Moms youngest Daughter, in over a year and a half,...Moms letters to her have been returned with no forwarding Address available,...Finally last Monday she got the Address where Jennifer is staying in Reno, NV. (From Jennifers Friends Mom) She was ready to go right then and told Dad lets go.... NOW!!!...Dad "We are not going until the Coach is ready for a long Road Trip"...Mom and I though maybe a Family member might want to do an Out and Back Road Trip?( I looked into renting a Car), Then Roxanne calls Weds and says she has some time off .. Lets go Friday Morning and Return ??? Mom and I never told Dad we are going cause He would only tell Mom NO, You CANNOT GO.... with no explanation...

Friday Morning Roxanne comes over around 09:00 and goes in the front Door to see and tell Dad we are going to Reno....OPPS, We never mentioned Dad had no Idea we ARE Going... He told Roxanne

Mom and I are Ready to go, We load the Car... Next Stop Salt Flats for some Pics, Wells for Fuel, Elko for Food, Fernley for Fuel, Check in at Sparks Motel around 5:00...We then head up the Hill to Knock on Jennifer's House about 5:30 (North Reno, Lemon Valley Area), Darrin Answers (Jennifer's roommate and best friend)...He Looked Shocked! We asked to see Jenn, He will be right back, After a few minutes He returned to say “Jenn is Crying, She can't see you now...Can you come back Tomorrow?” Yes We can “09:00 or 10:00?” OK, We will be back at 10:00 am.. We then took the 395 South all way thru Reno to Washoe Valley, There is a new Freeway and a BIG, Beautiful Bridge,..Very Nice!! We also stopped at and Quickly left the Peppermill Casino, This is the only time We spent being Tourists....The next day we are back up at Jennifer's House right at 10:00 am...Only Mom went to the Door and knocked Hard....No answer, She tries again, Still no luck,. Mom has a check (Proceeds from Land in Fountain Green that came from Moms Dad), This is a Legacy and would have went to Larinda, All us Kids got one (Thanks MOM!!) Her and Roxanne slip a letter and the Check under the Front

Next Stop Truckee river for more Pics, Next Fuel and Starbucks in Fernley...The rest of the drive back was sooo nice, Even though it rained almost the whole time ,Roxanne wanted and did take Pictures of the Local Town Letters on the Mountains...FUN and Funny!!! We also Stopped a 2^nd time at Costa Vida in Elko for Lunch where we met “Kenny” The founder of This Restaurant Chain...We arrived back in SLC about 9:00 PM (Roxanne still had to drive to Utah County) Thank You Mom and Roxanne for a VERY Pleasant Trip …...We never seen Jennifer BUT did meet our Goal...OUT AND BACK Delivery

There is my Ride Door to Door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Another Clear/Beauty Day!!!!Trail and later Gay say Hello (They are getting married and going to France fro their Honeymoon)...Even later Trial says"Come to the Fogs,We got about 15 Folks over there) Nice seeing "G's" Flag waving but I'm staying here...Seen Scarlet, Megan and Joe...Joe"Scarlet says she wants to grow up and be Burke" Me almost to Tears...Bernie "Come have Lunch with Ski Patrol" Me Maybe and THANKS COACH!! Patty comes over later and Has a nice Chat with Me and Phil....She is soo niceee to Me!! KENNY AT the end of the day........AWESOME!!!!! At One time we had Phil,Scott, Judd,Steve (Austins friend) Plus his friend John, Lee and his friend Scott, Always nice to see him...Later Anthony from Soli "Everyone knows your name", "You gave me some Keystone Rocks" AND "Your a Legend around here"....Thanks Anthony...All in all one heck of a Nice day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marc gave me a ride up pretty early, After a Stop at Dans for a 12 pack of O'douls we parked at the Bonus Lot...Phil and Scott where already there (With the Fogs) Jimmie was very early and parked near "G"s corner too...We go get Buddy passes...Thats the closest I get to the Beam all day....I set up Shop in the back of Truck....First time Marc seen the Pow Mag write up, He took a Pic with his Smart Phone, Next he is almost the First in Line...Here comes Andy and Mandy...I flash them before they drove into the bonus lot....Andy "Where is Burke?" Right then he got Flashed!!!!!!!!! Neither Andy or Mandy Skied.....?? We had Brats, THX!!! Phil, Scott and Friend Joined Us, PLUS WALT!!!! We Got A Ski Posse!!!!! Everytime they came to the Bottom you could hear the Whistles and Cow Bells Ringing...THAT WAS EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!! Non-Skier Handoff....Marc-To-Andy-To-Walt...Or Phil or Jimmiee, Even Brad was "I'm going to make sure you get a ride down"...THX...Quiet time at the Bonus Lot, Jimmiee came by and had some Words, He then went to Summit with a Rope to Toss......

Closing day was in the standard open jam format but the winner from 2010 returned to triumph once again. Crazy Guy on Drugs with Pink Tights and Kniessl Big Feet Snowlerblades may not remember his day, but I do, and it was nothing short of majestic. Despite whatever chemical challenges he was dealing with—not to mention the worst, most fiendishly difficult snow-sliding tools ever made—the champion’s ski technique was pure perfection. I’ve been in The Game for a long time, and I know mastery when I see it. The man was ripping the Volkswagens on Climax with a smoothness and timeless form that I can only compare to the greats like Stein Erikson or Jean-Claude Killy. On tiny skis with toes.

Later Ron and Marc join us on the Plaza....Only a Few Dress Upers...Gu Ru spent some time with Us...I seen Me 30 Years ago....Tights,Blades, Long Hair and The Walk!!(I don't walk on the Pavers) Funny!!!!!!!!! Ron was wearing the coaches "SniederFriday Jacket and Lil Ron.....We stayed until past Closing..........Nice ride down to Walts then Moms...It was SOOO CLEAR!!! All the way out to Antelope Island "It Looked like this everyday when I was a Kid" Amy when she lived at Home in Sandy/Willow Creek....Thanks again, Nice DAY!

Travis Tuesday and Ski Recovery

Along with the Pink Poles.....THX TRAVIS!!!We stayed way past closing (T-had a Conference call)....Seen our friend Eric get run over by his Truck....Hard to explain,....Happy he didn't drive down canyon or get really hurt...(He walked away and got a ride down with his cousin Duncan)
Got to watch the Skiers (Mostly Rob and Than) Travis was riding the Creamy/Dreamy Skiers Far Left...Got a pic and will post later....Funny Seeing Ski Patroller at the bottom of Postcard see me with my Mirror...Gave a Wave as he skied by...Later got a nice look from Laura (double take)...Former Lifty and the Best Smile Ever!!! Thanks for the update and awesome afternoon T!!!!!!!!!!
