Mammoth Memorial Day….May 31st 2021

Three flags Larry was the story….And this…”We hit the spot so many times that we watched as full beers were coming out of the melting Snow bank”… So I get them all in one bag and deliver them to the Lifties on chair 3… “White claw is my favorite beer”...Thank You!!!

Larry (Friends with Mammoth Scott) drops his home made backpack and 3 Big American flags near the spot… We return to find One Flag and his pack….What? 2 Flags missing/stolen out of his backpack...

I’m heading down to Chair one and find the two Flags while everyone else loads the Gondola at McCoy (Midway loading) for the end of season party at the summit ..”Chair one the snow is to slow right now” Its 13:00...I head to the Broadway Ski run and the side of the terrain park…. It was perfect!! Next I ski up to two Snowboarders with Larry's 2 Flags… I said I’m taking those 2 Flags back and I did…. Took the Gondola to the top where I present Larry his 2 Flags to many cheers!... Later when Larry, Scott, Dave and I Ski off the top for the final run of the season…. It's a Mob!!! Bonus is Dennis from Salty Peaks (Owner of this “Snowboard” Ski Shop) follow us off the top holding an American flag too!!! We all got a cameo on Mammoths Facebook/Instagram video…

Mothers day at the Nerd!!!!

Park and walk up from Welbere Julie (Travis) is parked near and calls me over "I was crying driving up LCC" Mom!

Peruvian to the tunnel (10:30am) "You know it's Spring Skiing when your here"

Micheal from "Burke Mt" took a video on the ride up "I'll bring some stickers from Vermont next ski season" Thank you for the kind words...

I took my bag and sticks to the spot (US Freestyle team was still training on Mark malu) So it's a hard ride down via Regulator to the spot, Ride up Little cloud to see the carin (mini Snowman) and Snow Angel still there!!! (Tracks too!!)

 

Over at Mineral I run into and spend the rest of the day skiing with Than.. (Skier!)

We have another boarder join us Dee (Southern Bell) and later Sam (Soli is the Soul) So Fun Skiing the signature run with the Boarders!! "You're the spirit of the Mountains" Thank you!!! 

Bonus run with 2 bladders and another Boarder... Henry and crew... "You are the inspiration for us skiing the blades" Thank You!!! Dam good skies too!!!!!!!!!!! 

Ended at the spot and a ski down Welbere Ridge to the cat bridge............

 Friday was excellent!... Meet R. Scott and Dave on Sugarloaf..... Soon we meet and Ski with Kenny!!!!!!

later we see and say Hi to Patty, Bernie and Soli Fogs......Soon we are back to Collins and run into No Sticks... (Thank you again Scott for the bonus bag of fun!!!!Awesome!!!)

Squaw-Mammoth-June-Bonus Mammoth

 Start skiing with Scott and Dave then Fog Lunch (Hosted by Rocking Scott!!!) @Solitude UT drive to Truckee CA... (Nap twice) park at Squaw next to a Park City race team van... Ha Ha!! Start on the Squaw One chair to the "Winner" Siberia Ex Super Six pack! skipped the Tram and Funitel..... toured Granite Chief, Shirley lake and Immigrant chairs.... Back to the winner... Later first time to the back side (Alpine Meadows) of the Headwall Super chair... KT22 was skiing too firm... back to the winner!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent!!! ended on the Mothership discovering the Shane Mckonkey memorial on the tip top of not a run... WOW!!

Drive to Minden for fuel via north lake Tahoe and Carson City

Sleep at the Rest stop near Mammoth... Wake up to the sunrise, Drive to the "Mill" (Chair two base) Coffee Party!!! Meet Marc here...lifts start at 8:30 

ITS ON!!!! much more later on Mammoth with Marc Fri-Sat and June Mt.s final ski day Sun 4-11-2021...... JUNE...What a nice Ski resort... even chair ONE up and down was no problem with views directly into the high country and Mt Lyell plus all of the June Lake Loop!!!!

Monday was a solo bonus day... starts with Blue skies and ends with Wind and Snow... time to go..... pass by Mammoth green and 2nd tracks.... next stop north of Ely NV to rest at the "Pony Express" rest stop.... Wake up to the Sun... Drive to see Mom in Ogden before returning home...

Snowbird parking

 As of today, April 5, all parking at Snowbird is now available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have existing parking reservations no action is needed.

We've got daily skiing & riding operations scheduled through May 9 and then weekends through Memorial Day. Come on up for some sweet corn turns and soak in the spring vibes.
