2 letters to Dave

Dave Fields

Snowbird, Utah

Good morning Dave

I'm Burke Weir from Holladay, Utah. I worked at the Forklift 2 ski seasons ago,...  I remember looking out the windows and daydreaming about the new LCC gondola station .. Step off the LCC Gondola and step directly onto the new Seven Summits Gondola that starts at the top of the club house and goes to a mid station at the mid Gad restaurant. The 2nd leg of this new gondola arrives at a new station that houses a new mineral basin chair and gondola.. at the Summit! To help with private investors *every 7th car is for seven summits club members only!! * Only Seven Summits members can open and ride these private Gondola cars...Ha Daydreaming about Snowbird and Skiing, It's what I do all year long... Now for the real reason for this email....
Pick up 23/24 season pass,.. drop off grandpa's skis.... Kinda sounds like what? It's a Legacy and a connection between Snowbird and all the Skiers/Riders who have been here the last 5 decades.... Mom tells kids "meet after skiing at Grandpas skis"  Mom tells kids, family and friends ``meet after final day of skiing at Grandpas skis" Just one pair of skis with a memorial attached to them brings this family up year round to visit Grandpas memorial skis on the world's longest Ski fence and memorial hall inside the snowbird center...That's just one pair..... Add 5,000 skis x 50,000 visits over the next 5 decades... "pick up season pass,.. drop off grandpa's skis"  between now and opening day why not.. of course it can be any former and current skier at Snow
Thank you for your consideration

Snowbird, Utah

Good morning Dave

I wanted to say thank you for this statement "Snowbird season pass holders and Snowbird employees will ride the LCC Gondola for free." I heard you say this and that Snowbird will donate the land for the LCC  Gondola base station. (KSL Radio) GREAT! This location is perfect for a "Wasatch Welcome Center" Co-sponsored by the Ski Resorts, National Forest, State of Utah, Salt Lake County, Local governments and organizations. Snowbird has a chance to put everyone under one roof here at the base station.... an Information Kiosk with information on the roads, Canyon rules, What to do with dogs? Have multiple dog kennels on site for day trippers...run by volunteers... Pick up Season passes from Snowbird and other resorts, Have some retail, snacks and cold drinks available at the base....the parking lot could include a spot for an "install tire chains" zone managed by volunteers to help the tourists and locals drive up the canyons safely and learn how to put on and take off chains and traction control devices.

This could be a year round hub where a legit "Bike Blvd" runs from Parleys canyon trail past this base station and ends in Draper.. It is offset with a cement barrier from the new Wasatch Blvd.. Bikers and hikers will want to meet at the rooftop observation deck that looks up the canyon and back towards the sunset with picnic tables and a memorial ski fence… “Meet at Moms old Skis”

There are so many possibilities to make this base station more than a parking lot…

I’m all in and would like to volunteer to help make this happen…

My vision for the new LCC Gondola is for the state to run the base to Snowbird section independent from the Snowbird to Alta section that could be run completely separate and paid for with private funds. Alta could add a new Gondola that takes you from the top of the new LCC Gondola to the top of Collins chair with a mid-station at Watsons shelter… I already mentioned my plan for the new Seven Summits Gondola… Its steps from the new LCC Gondola.. I’m now thinking of putting the mid-station for the new Seven Summits Gondola at the base of the little cloud chair… Late Spring and Summer skiing could begin and end at the mid-station…. Much better than downloading the Tram by hiking up….. Seven Summits Gondola and the new Mineral Basin Chair (MBX 6) share the same top station….. At The Summit!!!

I hope some of these daydreams come true.

Thank you for your consideration
